pawaPay originated as the payments part of pawaTech, a UK software company with more than a decade of experience building Mobile Money solutions for African markets. In early 2020, pawaPay was spun out as a standalone business with backing of the investors behind pawaTech.
Today, pawaPay is already a technological Mobile Money payments leader on the continent, processing 10s of millions of Mobile Money transactions per month across 10+ countries. At pawaPay we strongly believe Mobile Money is the future of payments in Africa with both cards and banks playing a secondary role.
